Description

As a historic port city, Sharjah is open to the sea and transforming continuously to accommodate global exchanges and standards of living. Rab’s presentation examines the role of historic buildings and modern architecture in creating Sharjah’s evolving cultural heritage. Identifying the Avenue of Modern Buildings along the Al Hisn Fort as a site of 'urban acupuncture', Rab proposes a contemporary 'Alternative Seascape', integrating historic and modern buildings to preserve Sharjah’s evolving authentiCity.
