Description

Biennials often provide a framework for education, critical debate and international dialogue. They bring artists into situations and conversations where learning and new possibilities for art and artists can be developed. Some take place in cities where there is little arts infrastructure or support for discourse and the production of art. They have an essential role in developing the cultural conditions for artists to thrive and make their work as well as playing a crucial role in building public support for and engagement with art. This panel will explore some strategies for embedding education in the long-term work of biennials and developing models of situated curatorial practice with education at the core.
