Biography

Raffie Davtian studied Sculpture at the State Academy of Arts in Yerevan. He works with photography, sculpture and installation, often focusing on the human body. He has had four solo exhibitions including Subjects-Objects of History and their Histories, Proekt_Fabrika, Moscow (20009), and Human Doors, Art and Cultural Studies Laboratory, Avant-garde Folk Music Club, Yerevan, Armenia (2007). Davitian has also taken part in more than a dozen group exhibitions and several film festivals worldwide. In 2005, he was given an honourable mention at the International Photography Awards in New York. He lives in Yerevan and Tehran.
