Sharjah Art Foundation invites you to its annual Ramadan Nights on 15 and 16 May 2019 in Arts Square, Sharjah. Join us for family-friendly, Ramadan-inspired workshops and performances, some of which are in support of this year’s charity campaign. Free and accessible to children and adults of all ages and abilities, workshop activities include upcycling donated clothes, designing prayer beads and creating Ramadan zines and postcards. Also on offer is a sign language course in collaboration with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. In addition to the workshops, the festivities will feature performances, including a traditional storyteller and open mic performers offering personal reflections on Ramadan. Food and artisanal vendors from the community will also be on site.

In conjunction with the Ramadan Nights activities, the foundation invites you to participate in its annual Ramadan charity campaign by donating second-hand clothes to help those in need. The donated clothes will be collected by the foundation and upcycled through the Revamping Clothes workshops taking place during Ramadan Nights. In the workshops, participants will collaborate with local neighbourhood tailors to revamp and restore each piece. Please note that only clothes in good condition will be accepted. The clothes may be dropped off at the foundation’s Collections Building in Arts Square throughout the month of Ramadan.

Additionally, this year’s charity campaign offers free, site-specific workshops and activities for the elderly at Sharjah’s Old People’s Home.
