Project Description
Vicarious Dreams consists of seven landscapes based on photographs of construction
digs that Hatem Imam has been taking in Beirut since 2009. The digs will eventually
be filled with concrete and steel to support houses, which, as signs surrounding
the site often indicate, will be “the house of your dreams”. According to Gaston
Bachelard, one main function of the house is to shelter the dreamer. “A house from
your dream and for your dreaming.”
