In conjunction with the ongoing exhibition Hassan Sharif: I Am The Single Work Artist, participants will take a collection of small broken toys and use them to create one large sculpture. This activity will teach participants to recycle old materials to make something better rather than just throw them away.
Informed by Hassan Sharif’s use of ropes in many of his artworks, participants will work with different sizes and colours of ropes to create their own artworks. Participants can employ their own techniques, for example, knotting or dying the ropes or even using the heavy rope for tying up boats in their work. This workshop will encourage participants to leave their unique imprint on familiar objects.
