Overview

Shashi, a shy homemaker in an upper middle-class Indian household, is constantly belittled by her husband and daughter because of her inability to speak English. Her life changes when she visits New York to help prepare for her niece's wedding. Struggling with the language barrier, Shashi decides to enroll in an English-speaking course, where she meets people who not only help her learn a new language but also teach her to value herself.
