Sharjah Art Foundation invites you, your family and friends to join us on Friday, 5 February 2021, in Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, Arts Square, for Fridays at Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, a weekly series of workshops designed for adults and children of all ages and abilities.
Come sketch the sights and sounds of the heritage area around Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, make your own Bookmarks, paint with music, and enjoy our drawing workshop.
This event is free and open to the public.

Live Sketching
Workshop for Youth and Adults
Date: Friday, 5 February 2021
Timings: 4:00 pm–6:00 pm
Location : Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, Arts Square
Ages: 15+
Languages: Arabic and English
In this workshop, participants will gather at Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, where the learning team will introduce them to some basic principles of sketching. They will then explore the area around Bait Obaid Al Shamsi and sketch different elements of the heritage house.
Making Bookmarks
Workshop for Children and Families
Date: Friday, 5 February 2021
Timings: 4:00 pm–6:00 pm
Location: Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, Arts Square

In this workshop, participants will create a group drawing on a big piece of paper, using different colours, markers and shapes to incorporate their own style. After the drawing is complete, it will be cut into pieces that can be used as bookmarks for the participants.
Painting to Music
Workshop for Children and Families

In this workshop, participants will paint while they listen to the beats and harmonies of a variety of music. Inspired by their emotional responses to the music, participants will collaboratively paint a number of artworks.

Workshop for Children and Families

This workshop will start with each participant creating a drawing and passing it on to another participant, who will then incorporate his/her own drawing ideas into the drawing already done. This technique helps develop creative thinking and will result in different drawing processes being merged. This workshop offers a fun approach to drawing, but more importantly, it encourages participants to work together constructively.
Safety Rules
To safeguard the health of our visitors and staff, the following rules, in line with Sharjah Health Authority regulations, will be instituted at the venue:
• Visitor capacity inside the venue will be limited to ensure adherence to recommended social distancing rules.
• Visitors are required to wear masks at all times in the venue.
• Visitors should keep a safe distance from others at all times.
• Visitors will be subject to temperature checks before entering the venue.
• Enhanced disinfection and sanitisation of the venue will take place between sessions.
• Hand sanitisers and other sanitisation products will be available at all venue entrances.
• These health and safety rules are subject to change in line with any modifications to Sharjah Government regulations and policies.
