Open Call: Vantage Point Sharjah 9

Overview

Sharjah Art Foundation welcomes submissions for Vantage Point Sharjah 9 (VPS9), an annual initiative dedicated to the practice of photography. Both local and international photographers are invited to apply. Applicants are free to choose their own theme and artistic approach that falls under one of the following categories: Photojournalism and Documentary, Conceptual, Experimental and Staged photography. A jury consisting of Ammar Al Attar, Sham Enbashi, M’hammed Kilito and Alia Al Shamsi will make the final selection of images that will be presented during an upcoming exhibition at Al Hamriyah Studios. One winner in each category will be selected by the jury to receive a prize of USD 1,500.

The application deadline is 11:00 pm (UAE time), 3 July 2021.

Please review the guidelines and submit the application form along with up to six digital photographs in 300 dpi resolution. Applications with more than six images will not be considered.

Please provide a short description of your work(s) along with your application, including the concept or theme behind the work(s), location and date of each photograph as well as the medium. You should also submit a brief biography with abrief overview of your photography practice; a list of previous solo or group exhibitions, residencies and awards (if any); and information about related educational and/or professional experience.
