Overview
Following a focused tour of SB13: Tamawuj, participants will gather in the Urban Garden, where Laura Allais-Maré, founder of Slow Food Dubai, will speak about the challenges faced in the region when cultivating soil and ways to regenerate desert sand as an alternative. The talk will be followed by a seed-and-plant swap, during which participants will be invited to exchange plants, seeds and other items related to gardening that they have brought with them. The day will conclude with a potluck bring-and-share meal, for which participants will bring a dish from home that incorporates herbs or greens readily found in the UAE.
