Overview

Tripoli Cancelled follows a week in the life of a man who has been trapped in an airport for a decade. Shot in the Eliinikon Airport in Greece, the script is inspired by the experience of Mohaiemen’s father who was stranded in this same Athens airport for nine days in 1977 after losing his passport on a Bangladesh-Libya flight. Exploring the complexities of the migrant experience, this critically-acclaimed film is a psychological tale about a life lived in between the seams and across the edges of society.

The film was commissioned by documenta 14 and co-commissioned by Sharjah Art Foundation and Art Jameel.

Tripoli Cancelled is part of the Sharjah Art Foundation Collection.
