Rami Abadir is a musician, composer, producer, sound engineer and writer for Ma3azef, where he contributes opinion pieces, reviews, interviews and playlists. He also creates works of experimental and ambient electronic music in independent musical projects such as ABADIR and 0N4B (in collaboration with Mostafa Onsy).

Abadir has co-organised the audiovisual performances Mapping Possibilities in Cairo with Nurah Farahat and Islam Shabana (2016–present), pairing electronic sounds with 3D animations and other digital projections. He has also presented performances, as a solo act and in collaboration with other artists, at Medrar Space, Garden City, Cairo (2014); Balcon, Heliopolis (2014); Egyptian Center for Culture and Art, Cairo (2014); Falaki Theatre, Cairo (2014) and Metro Al Madina, Beirut (2013), among others.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Cairo University (2005), and he is pursuing a master’s degree in digital media at the University of the Arts Bremen, Germany.

Abadir was born in 1982 in Cairo.
