Biography
Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) is a non-profit organisation based in the United Arabic Emirates that was founded in 1979 as a branch of the Arab Family Organisation in the Gulf region. SCHS works to advance the needs of Arab families by supporting the development of essential social services. The organisation is also one of the first to develop specific programmes for people with disabilities in the UAE. Their programmes include Al Amal School for Deaf Students, Al Wafa School for Developmental Training, Sharjah Autism Center, Early Intervention Center, Al Thiqa Club for the Handicapped which supports and advocates for sports for the disabled, Early Intervention Center and Al Manal Magazine, a specialised magazine for the disabled. Their centres are located across the Emirate of Sharjah from Al-Dhaid to Kalba and Khorfakkan.
