Overview
HE Omar Saif Ghobash is the current UAE Ambassador to Russia. He previously served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Emirates Foundation and has worked as a diplomat in the UAE Mission to the United Nations, specializing in legal affairs. He has also established a number of companies in the fields of finance, legal services and the arts, including co-founding contemporary Middle Eastern gallery, The Third Line, Dubai. He sponsors the Saif Ghobash–Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation, an annual prize awarded to a translator (or translators) for the published English translation of a full-length literary work in the Arabic language, in memory of his late father, Saif Ghobash. He recently launched a new company that focuses on the publishing of modern Arabic fiction, Kaleem Books. Ghobash holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of London in addition to a BA in Law from Oxford University.
