Biography

Tilda Swinton worked with Derek Jarman on films such as Carravagio, The Last of England, The Garden and Wittgenstein. Her film credits include Tony Gilroy’s Michael Clayton (for which she won an Academy Award and a BAFTA award for Best Supporting Actress), Lynne Ramsay’s We Need to Talk About Kevin(European Actress Award, 2011 European Film Awards),Erick Zonca’s Julia (Best Actress, 2009 Evening Standard British Film Awards) and Sally Potter’s Orlando (Best Foreign Actress, 1993 David di Donatello Awards).

Other recent films include Moonrise Kingdom, The Chronicles of Narnia, I Am Love, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Limits of Control. Her theatre credits include The Long Way Round (Royal National Theatre), Mozart and Salieri (Vienna/Berlin/Almeida Theatre) and Man to Man (Traverse Theatre/Royal Court Theatre).
