Biography
Yasmin Atassi is the Director of Green Art Gallery in Dubai, which she co-founded in 1995 with her late mother, Mayla Atassi. Since its inception, Green Art Gallery has played an important role in introducing modern Arab art to Dubai and helping to establish a vital dialogue among some of the most important modern Arab masters, including Fateh Moudaress, Louay Kayyali, Ismail Fattah, Dia Azzawi and others. Taking over the Gallery in 2010, Atassi went on to rebrand and build up the Gallery›s curatorial program and artist roster. Representing a multi-generational mix of artists from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Turkey and beyond, the Gallery has focused on contemporary artists working across different media, both traditional and new, whose practices reflect our current time and draw on research-based ideas.
