Discursive, collaborative and open-ended approaches to artistic and curatorial practice have introduced exibility to formulaic exhibition, public event and institutional models. These strategies have enabled examination of the social, political and economic networks that condition one’s experience of and access to art, extending engagement beyond the architectural confines of museum galleries.

In such an expanded field of art, how and where do curatorial and institutional practices come into play with regard to the public? This panel will explore curatorial practices in relation to various institutional mandates such as public festivals, art spaces, libraries and live programming, examining case studies of recent and upcoming projects.
