Conversation
Alia Swastika (Director, Biennale Jogja Foundation); Amal Khalaf (Civic Curator, Serpentine Galleries); Megan Tamati-Quennell (curator of modern and contemporary Maori and Indigenous art); Natasha Ginwala (Artistic Director, Colomboscope); and Zeynep Öz (independent curator)
Reflecting on their dynamic journey, the five curators of Sharjah Biennial 16: to carry discuss their collective and individual processes in curating their projects, which span diverse methodologies, such as residencies, workshops and collaborative productions. They reflect on the significance of the Biennial as a space for critical conversation, offering a polyphonic platform for divergent narratives, collective sense-making and the tenderness and rage inherent in responding to societal and technological change.
