Guitarist Deepak Castelino (b. 1963, Agra, India) has been performing in India and overseas for more than 35 years. His musical repertoire includes jazz, pop, folk and country music. He is also a visiting faculty at Ashoka University in India. Trained in the western tradition, he has scored original music and contributed guitar tracks in theatre, television commercials and films, including In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones (1989), Electric Moon (1992), Khamosh Pani (2003) and Milk and Opium (2006). He has participated in international music residencies and performed on stage for over 20 years as part of the ensemble Chaar Yaar, consisting of singer, writer and composer Madan Gopal Singh, sarod player Pritam Ghosal, percussionist Amjad Khan and Castelino on guitar and banjo. In 2024, he was awarded the Kala Ratna Award for Instrumental proficiency by the government of the Indian state of Haryana.
