Raven Chacon

Raven Chacon (b. 1977, Fort Defiance, Navajo Nation) is a composer, performer and installation artist. A recording artist since 24 years, Chacon has appeared on more than 80 releases on national and international labels. He has exhibited and performed at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Whitney Biennial, New York City; Borealis Festival, Bergen, Norway; SITE Santa Fe, New Mexico; The Kennedy Center, Washington DC, among others. As an educator, Chacon is the senior composer mentor for the Native American Composer Apprentice Project (NACAP). In 2022, he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in music for his composition Voiceless Mass. In 2023, Chacon was awarded the MacArthur Fellowship. From 2009 to 2018, he was a member of Postcommodity, a Native American interdisciplinary arts collective.
