The Sharjah Art Foundation Collection grew from the seeds of acquisitions and works commissioned for the Sharjah Biennial and the Foundation's programmes. It has since become one of the pre-eminent collections of its kind, serving to enrich the lives of audiences through collection care, scholarly research, and rotating exhibitions of significant works of modern and contemporary art, both locally, regionally and internationally.

The Sharjah Art Foundation publications department supports independent bookmaking through an annual publishing grant and art book fair, and produces major artists’ monographs which use archival and primary material to expand and question the canon of contemporary art.

SAF Online is a platform featuring select audio, video and text-based projects that reflect Sharjah Art Foundation’s current exhibitions and events. Explore critical perspectives on contemporary art through essays, podcasts, documentaries, and in-depth conversations with artists, scholars and curators. Each season presents a new series of digital projects, as well as excerpts from our 30-year archive, to provide discursive and historical context to our latest programmes.
