Meschac Gaba is known for his multi-faceted installations and interactive artworks that incorporate everyday objects and invite viewers to reconsider their perceptions of representation and the ongoing politics of display. His explorations cover a wide range of topics, including urbanisation, trade and transnational power dynamics, particularly in relation to Africa and the international context that surrounds it. Gaba's fascination with cityscapes and architectural structures is evident in his project Perruques Architectures ?mirats Arabes Unis (2019). On display here are aesthetic renderings of three iconic landmarks in Sharjah: the Etisalat Building, The Flying Saucer and the Radisson Blu Resort. Each of these structures holds significant civil and cultural importance and has profoundly impacted the development and transformation of the Emirate.
