Ibrahim El-Salahi created his own artistic language by integrating African patterns and references to Islamic architecture into the classical techniques he learned as a student in London. His paintings blend abstract calligraphy with human figures and motifs from nature, reflecting his life experiences. El-Salahi developed a contextualised colour palette connected to the dust, savanna and desert of Sudan.
