Lovers
Although known primarily as a sculptor, Simone Fattal’s beginnings were routed in a committed and ongoing practice of painting. Lovers (1972) presents anthropomorphic figures, sensuous forms the artist regards as ‘distinct’ within her oeuvre. Acquired specifically for In the Heart of Another Country: The Diasporic Imagination Rises exhibition, Lovers represents the Foundation’s commitment to Fattal’s work, which was first shown at the Foundation in a solo presentation in 2014.
