Kazuyo Sejima 1956, Ibaraki, Japan Lives and works in Tokyo 1981 MArch, Japan Women’s University, Tokyo Ryue Nishizawa 1966, Tokyo Lives and works in Tokyo 1990 MArch, Yokohama National University, Japan Upon completion of her studies, Kazuyo Sejima worked in the office of architect Toyo Ito until, in 1987, she opened her own studio. Her buildings in Japan include House in Plum Grove, Tokyo (2003); Small House, Tokyo (2000); and Gifu Kitagata Apartment (2000). Ryue Nishizawa established his office in 1997, and his works in Japan include K-Project, Nagano (2010); Towada Art Center (2008); House-A, Tokyo (2006); Moriyama House, Tokyo (2005); and Weekend House, Gunma (1998). In 1995, Sejima and Nishizawa founded SANAA. Their works together include Louvre-Lens, France(2012); Rolex Learning Center, École Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland (2009); New Museum, New York, New York, USA (2007); 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Japan (2004); and the Christian Dior Building, Omotesando, Tokyo (2003).
