Daniela Castro

Daniela Castro (b. 1976, São Paulo) is an experimental artist-curator, writer and researcher based in São Paulo. Her writing has been published widely in Brazil and internationally, and she has curated exhibitions across institutions in Brazil, Japan, Sweden, Mexico, Norway and Canada. Castro is currently engaged with the visual arts sector of Brazil’s Landless Workers’ Movement (MST). She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Toronto and received academic awards from the University of Hong Kong and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She earned a master’s degree in visual arts studies from the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) and is a PhD candidate in psychoanalysis and contemporary arts and culture at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica, São Paulo.
