Writer and curator May Adadol Ingawanij | เม อาดาดล อิงคะวณิช (b. 1973, Bangkok) is Professor of Cinematic Arts at the University of Westminster, where she co-directs the Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media. Working across Thai, English, and in translation, she has written about artists such as Anocha Suwichakornpong, Araya Rasdjamrearnsook, Nguyen Trinh Thi, Lav Diaz, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Ho Tzu Nyen, Korakrit Arunanondchai, Chris Zhongtian Yuan and Sorawit Songsataya. Her criticism and essays have appeared in New Left Review, Screen, Southeast of Now and Afterall, among others. Recent curatorial projects include the 69th Flaherty Film Seminar: To Commune, Thai Film Archive (2024); LEGACIES, Art Gallery of New South Wales (2024); and Animistic Apparatus: A Gathering (2022). She presents regularly at institutions such as Harvard University, ICA London and HKW Berlin, and she is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, UK.
