Maïa Tellit Hawad

Maïa Tellit Hawad is a writer, researcher and PhD student in the French Department at Yale University. Her research explores the imaginaries of the Sahara within French Africanist sciences, as well as the intersection of colonial, racial and extractivist dynamics in the contemporary administration of the central Sahara. Her current work investigates nomadic becomings in contemporary Tuareg societies.
