Sandy Chamoun (b. 1987, Nabatiye Fawka, Lebanon) is a musician, singer and actor based in Beirut. She released her first solo album, FATA17OCT, in 2022 and is currently developing her second album, Sawt El Doumoue, commissioned by Mophradat.Chamoun is a founding member of the satirical project The Great Departed and SANAM, a free-rock, post-folk sextet. The Great Departed’s album La Bombe (2016) was well received across the Arab region, while SANAM’s debut Aykathani Malakon (2023) was followed with a tour of Europe and the UK.As an artist, she gravitates towards Arabic folk songs with social and political critique. She has performed in theatrical productions, such as Political Circus, Welada88 and Aghani Servicet (Taxi Songs), among others. Chamoun has also worked as a sound designer for the short films There Is a Baba in Our House by Leil Zahra Mortada and Congress of Idling Persons by Bassem Saad.
