SERAPIS MARITIME is a hybrid art, design and fashion collective that creates work inspired by the aura of the oceans and the industries related to the sea. It is directed by its founding members and artists Krini Dimopoulou, Dimitra Dimopoulou and Manolis D. Lemos. Founded in Athens, Greece, in 2014, it has been based in—and made all its production in—Greece ever since. This results in a human-centric narrative that takes place inside of the universe of the sea. However, it is instilled by an intense spirituality throughout its imagery and references. This artistic output can also be read as a contemporary seascape.
In its garment and homeware production, SERAPIS uses mainly local materials, such as silk from Soufli and Volos cotton, dead stock and upcycled materials, including fabrics made from fishing nets sourced from the Greek sea.
