Sergio Torres (RRD: Reproduction and Distribution Network)

Sergio Torres (b. 1987, Mexico City) is a visual artist and producer working in video and mixed media, with a focus on found footage and docufiction. His practice explores cultural and political themes such as piracy, informal economies and collective memory, creating hybrid narratives that blur the line between reality and fiction. Torres’ work has been shown in exhibitions such as Pacific Pirate, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei (2019); Rebusk2, Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Mexico City (2021); Eso es la vida, Palm Springs Art Museum (2023); Copy Machine Manifestos, Brooklyn Museum (2023) and Vancouver Art Gallery (2024); and Busan Biennale (2024). He is a member of the collective RRD (Red de Reproducción y Distribución / Reproduction and Distribution Network), a platform for the production and distribution of printed and audiovisual content supported by a studio and a magazine stand located in Mexico City (2017–present).
