Sophia Tintori (b. 1986, New York) is an assistant professor and biologist at Fordham University, New York, where she studies the genetics and cell biology of natural variation in mutagen tolerance. She trained at Brown University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and New York University. In parallel with her research, she has made short animated non-fiction films for the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, Campion Fund, several research labs and other collaborating partners. Her films have been screened at US and international film festivals as well as a range of educational venues. They have also been featured in popular media, including National Public Radio and The New York Times.
