Tabu Osusa

Music producer and author Tabu Osusa (b. 1954, Homa Bay, Kenya) is the founder and executive director of Ketebul Music, a Nairobi-based non-profit organisation established in 2007. Osusa is also the Project Coordinator for Singing Wells (2011–present), a partnership project between Ketebul Music and the Abubilla Music Foundation (UK), which records and archives traditional sounds and music of East Africa. Osusa has been actively involved in the arts and culture sector for more than 40 years as a songwriter, recording artist, band manager, tour manager, promoter and music producer. Since 2008, Osusa has released four multimedia packages as part of the Retracing Series—research-based documentaries highlighting historical events that have redefined the East African music scene. Osusa is among the five Music Rights Champions nominated by the International Music Council and was a member of the jury for All Africa Music Awards (2014–2021). He serves on the board of directors for various cultural institutions, including Music in Africa and the Alliance Française of Nairobi.
