Ziaire Trinidad Sherman (b. 1999, Cincinnati, USA) is a saxophonist, multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Cincinnati. Drawing from the cultural legacies of the Black diaspora, his practice explores sound, memory and technology through a fusion of futuristic and historical elements. Sherman’s work is rooted in improvisation and storytelling, often engaging computer-based processes alongside human expression to evoke distant and collective memory. Through immersive soundscapes and experimental design, Sherman invites audiences into reflective, sensorial experiences that connect personal narrative with broader historical frameworks. His approach has earned recognition in beat battles and led to performances and collaborations across the United States. He has held leadership roles in international projects at many institutions, including Fabrica Research Centre, Treviso; MIT Media Lab, Cambridge; and documenta, Kassel.
