Hashel Al Lamki

Hashel Al Lamki (b. 1986) is an Emirati multidisciplinary artist known for his conceptual practice, which spans paintings made from sustainable materials, sculptures, audiovisual digital compilations and large-scale public installations. In his creations, the artist addresses themes of migration, globalisation and urbanisation, highlighting the interconnectedness between humans and their natural habitats. This attention to sustainability is also reflected in his creative process, where he employs upcycling and the use of natural resources to reduce waste.
Al Lamki has exhibited widely in the UAE and abroad, including in group shows such as the Biennale de Lyon (2022), the Gwangju Biennale (2024) and the 14th edition of Rencontres de Bamako, Biennale Africaine de la Photographie. Notably, in 2023, he held his survey show Maqam at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi. In 2024, the presentation travelled to Durbar Hall Art Gallery, Kochi.
