Raised in Honolulu, Kaili Chun draws deep inspiration from her native heritage, using art to explore the interconnectedness of people, place and time. Her artistic practice spans an of array of mediums, including installation and sculpture. Characterised by an integration of traditional Hawaiian forms and practices along with contemporary design elements, Chun’s site-specific works consider the relationship between humans and the environment as well as the preservation of Indigenous knowledge. These installations have been exhibited in cities such as Honolulu, New York, Kassel and Stuttgart. Her work has also been shown in Brisbane, Hong Kong and other international venues.
