Noémie Goudal (b. 1984) delves into the construction of ambitious staged illusionistic installations within the landscape, which she documents using film, photography and performance.
Her interventions are underpinned by rigorous research at the intersection of ecology and earth science. In 2024, she was shortlisted for the Prix Marcel Duchamp, and her work has been exhibited at the Centre Pompidou, the Victoria & Albert Museum and in the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The artist’s recent solo exhibitions include presentations at Mostyn; FRAC Auvergne; Les Rencontres de la Photographies d’Arles; Musée Delacroix; the Louvre; Musée des beaux-arts du Locle; the Finnish Museum of Photography; and the Hayward Gallery.
Goudal’s performance ANIMA, co-written with stage director Maëlle Poésy, was presented at the 76th edition of the Festival d’Avignon; the Centre Pompidou; the Venice Biennale; PS21 Chatham and Tate Modern.
