Pratchaya Phinthong

Pratchaya Phinthong’s world is a play of equivalences and flux. Consistent with a history of conceptual art, his work translates elements of the real world—a rumour, a scientific discovery, a trip—into a form or a poetical gesture. The artist’s micro-situations therefore create new human exchanges as well as a growing social network. Phinthong’s works have been featured in numerous international exhibitions, including the Busan Biennale (2024), the Singapore Biennale (2022), the 17th Istanbul Biennial (2022), the Dhaka Art Summit (2020), the Art Encounters Biennial in Timișoara (2017), the 14th Biennale de Lyon (2017), the Taipei Biennial (2012) and dOCUMENTA (13) (2012). His works are also part of major institutional and private collections, including those of the Musée National d’Art Moderne de Paris, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Kadist Art Foundation, Collection FRAC Lorraine and the Singapore Art Museum.
