Subash Thebe Limbu is a Yakthung (Limbu) artist of the Yakthung Nation (Limbuwan), from what is currently known as the Eastern Region of Nepal. His Yakthung name is Tangsang (Sky). Working with sound, film, music, performance, painting and podcasts, he creates art that is inspired by sociopolitical issues, resistance and science/speculative fiction. Notions of time, climate change and Indigeneity—or ‘Adivasi Futurism’, as he calls it—are recurring themes in the artist’s work. Limbu is a co-founding member of the Yakthung Cho Sangjumbho (Yakthung Art Society), which is based in Kathmandu, Newa-Tamsaling and the United Kingdom.
