Sharjah Art Foundation announces its Studio and Residency Programmes, housed in repurposed heritage houses as well as modern and contemporary art spaces across the Emirate of Sharjah. Spanning from Sharjah City’s historic creekside quarter to the coast of Al Hamriyah and the eastern town of Kalba on the Gulf of Oman, both programmes draw on the tangible and intangible presence of water.

The Studio Programme makes a wide range of spaces available to creatives at different stages of their careers, offering studio leases for up to three years. Additionally, free studio spaces are offered to recent fine arts graduates and PhD candidates to assist them in periods of transition.

The Residency Programme is open to visual artists, performance artists, writers, poets, researchers, musicians, filmmakers and other creatives who wish to pursue their experimental, interdisciplinary practice. It offers flights and transportation to the Emirate of Sharjah, accommodation and a monthly stipend. Residents will also have access to the Foundation’s institutional networks and resources.

The application process will begin soon for the Residency Programme, while the open call for the Studio Programme will go out later in the year.
