Moderator: Megan Tamati-Quennell (curator of modern and contemporary Mori and Indigenous art and Sharjah Biennial 16: to carry co-curator)
Physical and Spiritual Geographies is a conversation between Quandamooka artist Megan Cope and Kokatha, Nukunu artist Yhonnie Scarce. Moderated by Sharjah Biennial 16 co-curator Megan Tamati-Quennell, the discussion will focus on Indigenous art as a practice that is both enfolded within everyday life and drawn from located cultural, familial and environmental contexts. The conversation will explore the two artists’ individual art practices and their work, which is informed, conceptually and materially, by ‘country’, culture, life ways and experiences.
