WORKSHOPS
See the World through Dots
With Sara Kamar
Ages 6–10
In his paintings and other works, SB16 artist Daniel Boyd uses dots as ‘lenses’ for seeing objects in different ways. Tour his artworks, and then create your own drawings, experimenting with dots and circles in imaginative ways.
Paint with Natural Dyes
With Hala Abora
Ages 11–15
Working with natural dyes obtained from nature, SB16 artist Betty Adii draws and paints figures of women she knows because of their activism work. Make your own watercolours, and then use them to create paintings of women you admire.
Weave the Past and Future
With Zynab
Ages 15+
Blend both organic and synthetic materials to create a woven artwork. Taking inspiration from the weaving style of SB16 artist Maria José Murillo, make fabric pouches that express your creativity and cultural identity. Tell stories of your past, and imagine your future.
