Performance
Koleka Putuma (writer, theatre maker and cultural worker)
Introduced by Natasha Ginwala (Artistic Director, Colomboscope, and Sharjah Biennial 16: to carry co-curator)
WATER explores history, collective and ancestral memory, and the body as a site of resistance and pleasure. The texts offered in the performance look at the historical and communal tropes of water to examine its relation to access and belonging. More broadly, the performance reflects on questions of ownership, ecological and climate justice, and the potential for reconciling the realities of death with those of joy, love and life itself.
