Curator Zeynep Öz and designer Okay Karadayılar detail their long-standing collaboration for YAZ Publications, including design and editorial aspects of the 13-book series. Consisting of artist contributions, fictional and creative texts, editorial compilations as well as book exhibitions, the collection is part of Zeynep Öz’s contribution to Sharjah Biennial 16 (6 February to 15 June 2025). It touches upon the idea of home and mobility in a time of accelerated changes in technology and economic systems.

About Zeynep Öz

Zeynep Öz is a curator and writer. She curated the Pavilion of Turkey, 58th Venice Biennale, and the BACA exhibition of Marwan Rechmaoui’s work at the Bonnefantenmuseum, which travelled to Sharjah Art Foundation (both 2019). From 2015 to 2020, Öz taught at Istanbul’s Boğaziçi University and served on the curricular and selection committees of the Home Workspace Program, Ashkal Alwan.  

About Okay Karadayılar

Okay Karadayılar is an independent graphic designer, with a focus on art, books and editorial design. Deeply interested in language and typography, he has designed books published by Salt, Arter, IKSV, Lars Müller Publishers and Onagöre, among others. He was the art director at Hamam Magazine.
