Overview

Noor Al Suwaidi is a visual artist, working primarily in painting and drawing. She is known for her colorful works, which often aesthetically explore the female form. As an artist, she has participated in residencies in London, Rome and Berlin. She has exhibited in the UAE and abroad in numerous group shows, including: Method to Maddness, Quadro Gallery, Dubai (2011-2012), A patch on my evil eye, Arab British Centre, London (2010), External: new art from the East, The Gallery in Redchurch Street, London (2010), Emirati Expressions, Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi (2009), and Works on Paper, Watkins Art Gallery, American University, Washington, DC (2004). In 2011 she presented her first solo exhibition, Like Coral I Create Clouds, Cork Street Gallery, London. In addition to her artistic practice, Al Suwaidi is also an independent curator and frequent public speaker. She studied Visual Communication at the American University, Sharjah and earned a BA in Studio Art from the American University, Washington D.C. and an MA in Curating Contemporary Design from Kingston University, London.
