Overview
Michelle Dezember is the Head of Education at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Doha, Qatar. She joined in 2009 to establish the strategy for learning and public programmes and currently oversees a team of educators, interns and volunteers that develop and deliver a wide range of programming for Mathaf’s diverse audiences. In 2007, she received a Fulbright grant to research the impact of recent immigration on the pedagogies of museums in Barcelona. Her previous experience includes working as a freelance museum educator at the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The Museum of the City of New York, The Queens Museum, and The Centre for Architecture Foundation. She holds a BA in Art History from Santa Clara University and a MA in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester.
