Biography

Andria Hickey has been Curator at the Public Art Fund in New York since 2011, where she has organised exhibitions in the public realm featuring a diverse range of artists including Olaf Breuning, Katharina Grosse, Monika Sosnowska, Hank Willis Thomas, Oscar Tuazon, Fischli/Weiss and Danh Vo. Previously she was a Curator at Art in General, a non-profit gallery in Lower Manhattan. She was a curatorial fellow in the Department of Visual Arts at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis (2007-10), where she collaborated on exhibitions including The Quick and the Dead (2008), Haegue Yang: Integrity of the Insider (2009) and Yves Klein: With the Void, Full Powers (2010), among others. Before joining the Walker, Hickey was an independent curator and writer, working in non-profit artist-run centres in Montreal and Newfoundland. She has presented lectures and moderated panels at the Modern Art Museum, Fort Worth (2015), Goethe Institute (2015), Public Art Fund at The New School (2011-15) and Walker Art Center (2010). Hickey completed her MA in Art History at Concordia University in Montreal and her written work has been published in a wide variety of journals and exhibition catalogues.
