Biography

Mostafa Saifi Rahmouni was born in Morocco and studied at the Institut National des Beaux-Arts, Tétouan, Morocco before moving to Brussels to complete an MA in sculpture at the ENSAV La Cambre. Since graduating in 2016, he has held a residency within the framework of a postdoctoral degree at HISK, Ghent, Belgium. He uses photography, installation, video, sculpture and sound to create frank and straightforward pieces, whose intuitive images and forms suggest more than they immediately reveal and invite many layers of interpretation. Far from being illustrative, his intentions fall within the scope of metaphorical relations that broach universal preoccupations and obsessions, such as the ties that bind life and death.
