The Afterlives of the Postcolonial was the theme of the 14th edition of March Meeting, Sharjah Art Foundation’s annual convening of artists, curators and art practitioners to explore critical issues in contemporary art through panels, lectures and performances.

Inji Efflatoun and the Mexican Muralists: Imaging Women and Work between Egypt and Mexico traces Efflatoun’s relationship with key figures in the Mexican mural movement, and was produced as part of Sharjah Art Foundation’s annual Publishing Grant in 2020.

Widen the Circle: An Obscure Experimentation in North African Avant-Garde Cinema traces the colonial history present in North African cinema through three films, and was produced as part of Sharjah Art Foundation’s annual Publishing Grant in 2020.
