Site-Specific Art Making

This workshop is designed to teach participants the concept of site-specific art and will encourage them to use their imagination to create a new artwork from an existing object. The workshop will take place in two parts. In the first part, participants will be taken to the beach to search for an object in the water, sand or surrounding areas. In the second part of the workshop, participants will convert their found object into a unique piece of art. The workshop is themed around the SB13 keyword ‘water’.

Macro Photography in Nature

Participants will be taken to Al Fisht Park in Sharjah and asked to observe the hidden beauty in nature. A photographer will accompany the group and take photos of what participants point to among the small living creatures in the area. Participants will then select from oversized or macro photographs of these living beings, and selected photos will be printed and hung in the Collections Building as part of each participant’s body of work.
